What is a Consumer Confidence Report?  A CCR is a report on the quality of drinking water supplied by the City of Union Gap's Public Water System (ID #9025OU).  Consumer Confidence Reports are published annually, as required under the 1996 Sate Drinking Water Act Amendments administrated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Subpart B and Part 7 of Chapter 246-290 Washington Administrative Code (WAC).

CONTROL PROGRAM
The City's Cross-Connection Program will continue this summer with backflow inspectors working through the City's system inspecting properties. Please make sure your cross-connection flow assemblies are tested and certified.

REGIONAL STORMWATER MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
 
Yakima County, as the Regional Stormwater Lead, is tasked by an Interlocal Governmental Agreement to perform permit compliance tasks under the Department of Ecology's Phase II NPDES Stormwater Permit for the cities of Yakima, Sunnyside, Union Gap, and urban Yakima County.  Click on the following link to read all about it:

UTILITY RATE INCREASE

In the spring of 2007, after much discussion, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2523 approving an increase in the rate charged for water and sewer provided, and made available, to customers of the City of Union Gap.  Rate adjustments are necessary from time to time to ensure adequate revenue to properly maintain the City's utilities.

The new rate change will be reflected on the first utility billing occurring after the effective date as listed:
